Chimney Removal in Laverstock
PROJECT
Chimney Removal in Laverstock, salisbury
MD Roofing were asked to remove a redundant chimney on a property in Laverstock, Salisbury, as part of a wider roof replacement project. The chimney was no longer needed and had become a weak point in the roof, with the potential for leaks around the flashing and future maintenance costs. Taking it out before the new roof went on was the smartest, most cost-effective option.
We planned the removal carefully to protect the surrounding roof structure. Our team set up safe access, then dismantled the chimney section by section, controlling debris and keeping disruption to a minimum for the homeowner. Once the stack was down, we made good the opening, tied in the structure and prepared the area so the new roofing could run straight through.
With the chimney out of the way, we were able to install the new roof as one continuous system. That meant no awkward junctions, no failing leadwork to worry about later, and a much cleaner finish on the front elevation. The result is a stronger, simpler, more watertight roof that will be easier to maintain in the future and gives the homeowner better overall protection.
